Android App Update

In the next couple weeks, a new app will be rolled out for Android and the iOS app to be released upon approval by Apple. The new app will need to be downloaded separately because the added features made it necessary to create a brand new app that will work with more phones and much more efficiently.

Some screenshots and technical information will be posted soon!

Mobile App Update

In the next month, the launch of the Mitchell Wiggs app for iPhone will be released, but in a recently decision, there will be a Windows Phone, Blackberry, and new version of the existing Android app.

Among the changes to the new version of the existing Android app (and, indeed, all other platforms) is the addition of a native music and video player, improved integration with Mitchell’s social networks, and a complete photo gallery to keep up with Mitchell’s latest outings.

Expect the iPhone app in early February, with Windows Mobile shortly after. A Blackberry version is likely, but not necessarily a priority, depending on interest levels among Mitchell’s fans.

If you are interested in participating in a test of any of these apps, please email us.

iPhone App Preview

The Mitchell Wiggs iPhone app is approaching completion.
Here are the first previews from the app:

iOS Development

Following the success of the Mitchell Wiggs app for Android, development for all iOS devices is under way and will be available by January.

The iOS app will feature even more content than he Android app, including a social component to interact with Mitchell further.

Email admin@mitchellwiggs.com if you’d like to be a part of the testing group for the app.

Mitchell Wiggs Android App will hit Marketplace next week

Following a wildly successful Beta test, the Mitchell Wiggs app for Android will be sent to the Android Marketplace and begin availability next week.

For those of you who want to use the Beta version until this, you can download it on the download page, or get the .apk file here.

Those of you currently using the app can continue doing so, as the latest available version is, essentially, the same as the release candidate, but it is recommended you download the Marketplace version to recieve automatic updates as more content becomes available.

The Marketplace version has been tested for all Android versions through the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), so those of you upgrading to new devices over the holidays will be able to use the app with complete efficiency.

Development on the iOS version of the app will likely complete by the end of the year.

Mitchell Wiggs Android App Official Release Information

The Official Mitchell Wiggs app for Android will be released shortly in the Android Marketplace, so for those of you using the Beta version of the app, you may continue doing so and will continue to receive updates, however, the version released to the Marketplace will be verified and tested for use with the new Android “Ice Cream Sandwich” and will work on devices updated with that functionality.

The Beta will likely continue working on updated devices, however, it is not verified and we recommend you make the update as soon as the app becomes freely available in the Marketplace next month for the maximum amount of Mitchell Wiggs news and media.

The app is currently available to Android users with sideloading enabled on their devices on the Downloads page on the main navigation bar. Please see that page for download and installation instructions.

The New Android App in Action

The new app has two different views for Mitchell’s followers to use. Version 1.0 currently streams Mitchellwiggs.com and Mitchell’s Tumblr, but more feeds, and media streams are coming in the next update, which will be made available automatically for those who have the app installed.

Android App available for Beta testing

This is a beta test for Android users only. The app will appear in the Android Marketplace next month after feedback is collected from Mitchell’s fans.

The technical requirements for running this app are:

  1. An Android device.
  2. Sideloading enabled (Under Setting>Applications>Check “Unknown Sources”) on your Device. This is available under most carriers, and AT&T with the most recent carrier update.
To sign up for this test, please email admin@mitchellwiggs.com and be sure to send feedback.

Mobile Site and App for iOS and Android

Coming in the next few weeks is Mitchell’s mobile website, which will center on the ability to listen to Mitchell’s forthcoming music on the go with any mobile device.

For iPhone or iPod touch users, the mobile website’s features, plus exclusive content (videos, additional music, backgrounds) will be available in the App Store through the Mitchell Wiggs Official App, pending approval for the App Store.

Likewise, for Android users, an app is under development.

Check back often for updates on the Apps, and for new material from Mitchell Wiggs.
